Thirsty for a Slurpee or Big Gulp?
Those 7-Eleven icons will soon be available in Brookfield.
The Open Pantry location at Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road plans to convert to a 7-Eleven, under 7-Eleven's aquisition of 18 Open Pantries in Wisconsin.
7-Eleven has filed an application for occupancy at 3960 N. Brookfield Rd., said Larry Goudy, city building and zoning administrator. No building permit was sought so little change is likely planned for the conversion.
7-Eleven announced Monday it had closed deals to acquire 18 Open Pantries in Wisconsin, including locations in Brookfield, Delafield, Franklin, Kenosha, Madison, New Berlin, Oak Creek, Oconomowoc, Oshkosh, Pewaukee and Sussex.
"We have several strong markets in the Great Lakes areas and are committed to showing Wisconsin residents why their neighbors are such big fans of 7-Eleven," said Robbie Radant, 7-Eleven vice president of mergers and acquisitions.
7-Eleven previously had a presence in southeastern Wisconsin — it opened about 15 stores there in 1996 but within a decade had left the market, JSOnline.com reported.
