Wisconsin Football Coaches Association defensive player of the year, Alec James of Brookfield East, reaffirmed his commitment on Wednesday to the Badgers, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. 

The senior gave non-binding oral commitment last summer to the University of Wisconsin-Madison but began looking at other schools when Coach Bret Bielema left UW for Arkansas in December.

James considered Oregon, Michigan State and Arkansas.

A visit to UW this past weekend to meet with Coach Gary Andersen and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda might have been the deal closer for James.

James is scheduled to sign next Wednesday on National Signing Day.
