Brookfield Gives Prosser Nearly 11K Votes
Incumbent State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser gets 10,859 votes from city residents or 76 percent against JoAnne Kloppenburg.
As expected, Brookfield city voters ran up a good turnout in the state Supreme Court race and gave incumbent Justice David Prosser nearly 11,000 votes.
Unofficial, unaudited results showed 76 percent of city residents who voted picked Prosser, with 24 percent voting for challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg.
That translated to a city voting turnout of about 53 percent, the city's second-highest for a spring election since 2001, but nowhere near the 79 percent turnout for the gubernatorial race last November.

certainly suspicious. quite extraordinary, the changes that can occur when you call in the big boys who rigged bush's win. now, will WI and Kloppenburg roll over and play dead?

A series of non-sequiturs. Who are "the big boys," rising? When and how did they "rig bush's win"? Do you have any specifics, or are you just introducing conspiracies into the bloodstream, hoping they will infect what is a pretty cut-and-dry story?

That's a heckuva lot of civil pride in Brookfield.

I posted this article and chart at 12:24 a.m. on election night, using data handed to me from the City of Brookfield clerk's office, not from Waukesha County. Lots of confusion about this. This came straight from the city ON election night. These are the results County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus said today that she failed to properly save and include in the countywide total she released to AP on election night.

Lisa Sink QUOTE:

And you investigated no further? Have you looked into what I've quoted below to find if this is true or not about Microsoft Access and saving?
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/04/07/964645/-Kathy-Nickolaus-in-Waukesha-forgot-to-saveReally
QUOTE:
"Nickolaus says repeatedly that she imported the data into Access, but through a process of "human error", she "forgot to save". Then come the tears, repeatedly, throughout her presser.
Here's the problem. Microsoft Access (any version) doesn't ask you to save. When you enter data into a table, it automatically updates the underlying database. If you close the database accidentally, the data you entered (or imported, in the case of Nickolaus) remains. If you stop to take a phone call from your buddy the governor (for example), your data will still automatically save."

It seems pretty clear that this news story confirms Nickolaus' explanation. The votes were tallied by the city and released by the city to the media on Tuesday night. The vote totals for the city have not changed between Tuesday and the Thursday press conference. It seems to be a simple question--were they reported by the county (Nickolaus) to the state or not on Tuesday, and pretty easy to confirm. If they were not reported, she made a mistake, and the new total is correct. If they were, it would be apparent from the data that she forwarded to the state. While Kloppenberg fans may be unhappy about the way it came about, there i nothing to suggest any intentional skullduggery on Nickolaus' part.

John you are clearly in denial about the situation.
Kathy Nickolaus:
- was hired by David Prosser.
- has a well documented history of being accused of voting irregularities.
- the 53% voter turn-out indicated by her "adjusted" election figures would present a historical statistical anomoly (to put it into perspective, only 33% of eligible voters turned out state wide. Exit polling in Brookfield indicated "average" turn-out of 20%-25%, and during the last 4 April elections for hotly-contested Supreme Court seats, voter turn-out did not exceed 24%).
- the +/-7,500 votes represents almost exactly the .05% margin of victory for Prosser that would require the Kloppenburg campaign to pay for the cost of the recount.
If that all passes your smell test, then you should get your nose checked.

There is no reason for John to have his nose checked but you may want to reassess your analysis of the turnout after viewing some facts. Check out http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/119476004.html There was no anomaly.
Please note that to her credit Ramona Kitzinger, vice chairman of the Waukesha County Democratic Party, fully supports the change in votes reported to the AP.
In short contrary to your inference there is NO evidence of any voter irregularity.

Morgan,
Brookfield sent the data directly the the Brookfield Patch that night. The numbers are the same as what Nickolaus later reported. Take Nickolaus completely out of the picture, and the numbers are the same.
End of story.

Except that the statement about failing to properly save and include the totals is already exposed as a lie. She uses Microsoft Access database, which auto-saves everything. As soon as she imported the numbers, the database had them in it. When she closes the file, it does not ask if you want to save like other programs (such as Excel), it's already saved. Even if your Windows PC crashes right after you had imported all of the data, the database had already saved it to disk. She's clearly LYING.

Cieran, we are fortunate that you have not only such a complete grasp of Microsoft Access and any other software used by Kathy Nickolaus but also know everything that occurred in her office that night. So much knowledge that you are certain she is clearly lying.
Don't stop here. These simple facts have clearly escaped the dozens of lawyers, party hacks and computer specialists investigating this incident. Therefore, it is your duty to make things right and rather than tell us Kathy is "clearly LYING" get yourself out to the authorities and tell them what you know so that we can right this obvious attempt at stealing an election.
After you do, please report back here with the results.

You're either hoping your fellow readers are too stupid to research turning off the Auto save feature in Access (or any MS product) or you are some hopelessly ignorant Liberal Arts major, in which case, cream and sugar, please. Perhaps, you should try figuring out the reasons a programer would want to force users to choose to save data and not autosave everything.

@TD, when presented with verifiable facts about the nature of the software program she admits she uses, your only defense is that because I wasn't in her office (you know, the office where she keeps the election data on a computer that ONLY SHE CAN ACCESS) my statement about Microsoft Access' autosave feature must be called into question? What an obvious shill.

No Cieran, if you have knowledge that Kathy Nickolaus is "clearly LYING" you should bring this information forward to the proper authorities perhaps the Government Accountability Board as it seems that no one else has this knowledge and it is material to investigating just what occurred. Until you do so don't waste your time here.
So, let us know how it turns out.

How does the 53% "reported" turnout correlate with the exit polling that was reported at 20%-25%? Where did all those votes represented by the difference come from? Did those mysterious voters somehow sneak out through a back alley to avoid those conducting the exit polls?

As a Democrat, she said, "I'm not going to stand here and tell you something that's not true."

Hey, I'm sure the democrats will investigate this and if there is any fraud it should be addressed. But don't come off talking about somebody rigging Busdh's election wins. It was Al Gore who tried to steal the election, it was Acorn getting caught in voter fraud all over the country, it is Acorn who has employees going to jail for voter fraud. Also how do you thing Al Franken got elected. He was losing but after about five recounts they finally found enough votes for the win. You want to talk about voter fraud, talk to the two experts, the unions and Acorn. You want to talk about voter fraud, clean up your own back yard first. Like I said, if there was voter fraud here, the people should be jailed, until then you have no case.

If you remember The elder Mayor Daley in Chicago - he would always withold the Cook County votes until all the downstate conservative votes were counted - so he would know exactly how many liberal votes were needed to win. From here in Florida, it seems that the Unions and Liberals in Wisconsin are moving from one failure to another without any loss of enthusiasm.

One must remember that if a Democrat wins by 200 votes, it's a big win! On the other hand, if a Republican wins by 7,000+ votes, its highly suspicious and demands a money wasting recount!

Listen, this is not Nickolaus' first rodeo. She owed someone in the Republican party a big favor! And they called it in. Yeah that's just my "theory". But it's plausible considering all the other BS that Walker and the Fitz Bros have put this State thru. Frankly, the State needs to fund a recount. The seals need to be broken and every single vote vetted and counted. By no means is this an automatic "win" for Prosser. Besides, wouldn't Prosser himself want to be elected without suspect? Everything that has been done since day one of the Walker adminstration has been an "end around", "bending the law". So this is no surprize.

How can you just keep ignoring the FACT that the vote totals were reported by THIS WEBSITE on the NIGHT OF ELECTION, and they are the same numbers ultimately/finally reported by the Clerk? Is the reporter part of your conspiracy? The Patch owned by the Koch Brothers? (nope - a Huffington entity) Ignoring what doesn't fit your conspiracy theory doesn't make you right - or smart - just an ideologue.

Wisconsin residents should be adult enough to do this themselves and keep the Washington politicos and New York press buzzards away. Have some self respect Wisconsin.
