Brookfield Woman Caught Driving Drunk Through School Parking Lot
Suspect keeps driving away from police with a damaged front end and two popped tires.
A 35-year-old Brookfield woman is facing charges after she was caught driving drunk in the parking lot of St. Dominic Catholic School Tuesday evening.
Carre L. Czemierys was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of fourth offense operating while intoxicated and one count of bail jumping. If convicted, she faces up to 21 months in prison and $12,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
Brookfield police were called to St. Dominic at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday after people spotted Czemierys driving into things in the parking lot. When police arrived, they saw her driving to the east end of the parking lot and onto eastbound Capitol Drive with extensive damage to her car and two flat tires on the passenger side.
The officer tried to pull Czemierys over, but she sped up to between 35 and 40 miles per hour. She continued until turning onto Calhoun Road and into the parking lot of Pick ‘n Save, where she parked in a stall and got out of her car.
An officer approached Czemierys, who then began asking what happened. She told police she was drinking with her father around 3 p.m., then she failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
Czemierys was previously convicted of OWI in 2003, 2004 and 2006. She is currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $12,000 cash bail.
