Accused Serial Burglar Convicted in Plea Deal

Scott Laskowski, 32, pleads no contest to one count of burglary and faces other charges from alleged burglary spree last year in Brookfield, Menomonee Falls and Wauwatosa.

A Wauwatosa man faces potential prison time after being convicted of one count of burglary in connection with an alleged burglary spree last year in Menomonee Falls, Brookfield and Wauwatosa.

Scott Laskowski, 32, plead no contest Monday to felony burglary as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Under the deal, Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney found him guilty of the charge and dismissed three other charges against him.

He faces a maximum penalty of 12½ years in prison when he will be sentenced April 2.

Laskowski, however, also is scheduled for a plea hearing March 2 on two other pending burglary cases stemming from Brookfield break-ins.

Laskowski is considered a suspect in 15 burglaries in Brookfield and 25 in Wauwatosa.

Laskowski was arrested in August after Menomonee Falls police spotted him trying to break into Rincon Mexicano restaurant, N88W16718 Appleton Ave. He was traced back to a string of burglaries in Menomonee Falls and Wauwatosa, including the burglary of Simma’s Bakery in Wauwatosa. Laskowski took cash from the businesses, except on one occasion where he took snacks from a vending machine at tattoo parlor that had been burglarized.

The snacks were later found inside Laskowski’s apartment.

Give him the 12 1/2 years on the plea deal then another 30 on the rest of the charges.

He's going to be absent from a few OCCUPY demonstrations.
