Charges: Man Stole Men's Cologne Worth $225
Complaint alleges security guard thought suspect was going to pull a weapon, but the suspect said he was going to give back the cologne.
A Milwaukee man was charged with theft for allegedly stealing $225 worth of cologne from Kohl’s Department Store.
Renaldo V. Wilson, 49, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of retail theft after allegedly taking numerous bottles of men’s cologne and walking out of the store, 2315 N. 124th St.
According to the criminal complaint:
Brookfield police officers were called to the store at 2 p.m. Friday after a store security guard followed Wilson out of the store when he noticed Wilson had taken the bottles of cologne. When confronted by the security guard, the complaint states Wilson reached into his jacket, which caused the guard to back away because he thought Wilson was drawing a weapon.
Wilson then fled the area and was later arrested by the Elm Grove Police Department. Wilson told officers he didn’t threaten the security guard but had reached into his jacket to give back the cologne that was inside his coat.
