Cosmo Magazine Featuring Azana Spa in Domestic Violence Article
The magazine was at the Spa on Monday taking pictures of owner Tami Gemmell and the Azana family.
Cosmopolitan magazine was at Azana Salon & Spa taking pictures of the Azana family for a feature on domestic violence.
The salon will be featured in the May 2013 issue.
Days after Azana hairstylist Zina Daniel Haughton obtained a four-year restraining order against the husband she planned to divorce, he stormed into the upscale Azana, killing her and two of her co-workers and wounding four others before killing himself in October.
"What a great way to turn such a horrific event into education, way to go!" said Christine Elizabeth Hanson Pruitt on the Azana Facebook page.
Zina Haughton's chair and station have been replaced with a small table and chairs in the newly renovated salon, a white candle and a vase that will forever hold three yellow roses to represent the fatalities: Zina Haughton, Cary Robuck and Maelyn Lind.

Tami is a beautiful woman!

I disagree that Tami is a beautiful woman. Maybe pretty on the outside but not on the inside. The way she treated us during the days and weeks after the shooting were rediculous. I have since moved on to a new job that I feel safer and more appreciated at. Something else and maybe the Patch can comment on this being a local news outlet. SO Tami won't talk at any length to the local NEWS press but Cosmo's soft ball questions? No problem!

Obviously you no longer work there for a reason so no need to bad mouth any one. Jealousy makes one ugly. Tami is an amazing, strong, caring, loving, gorgeous woman who deserves admiration for all she has done and never gives up! She shines bright!

As a former Azana employee I agree with Haley's comment. Tami is a very ugly woman on the inside. She treats people very badly and thinks she is better than everyone. I was deeply dissapointed to see she has taken this opportunity to get attention for herself. Cosmo should have focused more on the victums and the domestic violence message than having her model throughout the salon.

"FORMER Azana employee" its obvious that statement is for a good reason! Why do u feel the need to badmouth an amazing individual and her place of employment when it is no longer yours? Jealous of a hardworking, living woman? Tami did a wonderful heartfelt job at taking care of all her employees and still continues to do so. She has done many things out of the kindness of her heart that She did not need to! Without her, there would not be an Azana, without her, there would be many individuals unemployed and struggling. Tami is one of a kind and one in a million. MAGNIFICENT!
