Man's Protest Sign Against Police and His Cop Neighbor Leads to Charges
Suspect tells off-duty neighbor he wants to "duke it out" after holding a sign at the end of his driveway voicing his issues with the Brookfield Police Department.
A Brookfield man is facing charges after he decided to hold a sign at the end of his driveway to express his displeasure with his police officer neighbor and the Brookfield Police Department.
Alan B. Jacobson, 51, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of disorderly conduct and one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On May 25, an off-duty police officer living in the 2500 block of Lilly Road contacted police officers after he spotted Jacobson standing at the end of a driveway. The officer began to record the incident with his cell phone and Jacobson began to swear and told the officer “we should just end this now and duke it out and I’ll kick you (expletive).”
When officers arrived they told Jacobson he would be placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, to which he responded “no I won’t,” and began to physically resist officers. He eventually wasa taken to the ground, arrested and taken to the Brookfield Police Department.
Jacobson told officers he’s sick and tired of seeing his cop neighbor standing at the end of his driveway with his arms crossed and staring at him. And he said he’s also upset with the department pulling over his children and friends, so he decided to stand outside with the sign to express his anger.
Police Capt. Jim Adlam told Patch the sign said something about Brookfield police officers messing with motorcycles after Jacobson became upset when some of his friends were allegedly pulled over while riding motorcycles.
Jacobson said he did call his neighbor names, but denied threatening his life. He will make his initial appearance in court Aug. 6.

I know this neighbor and his family that is complaining abut the brookfield police. What a crock. To learn more about why this family is consistently in trouble with the law please read the article about 19 yr old selling drugs to an undercover cop. Yep same family. No one in the neighberhood wants them around and can't stand all of the illegal activity that goes on there. Hey buddy, spend more time being a parent and worry about your children and their actions. Feel free to mention all the charges they have against them. Police harrassing them? No more like your kids are deliquents and the police dept is doing their job. Oh and the neighbor across the street doesn't like you?? Are you really shocked??? No one wants this kind of behavior around any of our families. I hope no one takes pity on this loser or his family. I am thankful I live in an area where the police dept does not take lightly the use of drugs, underage drinking, etc... and do something about it.

For the unsophisticated reader neglectful that every story is debatable: regardless of the neighbor’s profession, Brookfield should have more pride in the activity throughout the whole city. Any incident related to the quality of life that continues more than once is staggering! Especially, when the tax payer is persecuted & offenders continue their unlawful activity with no consequence. Hence the For Sale sign!

Thanks to the neighbor who enlightened us as to what is going on. If you didn't do anything wrong the police are not gonna bother you, especially if you have a motorcycle. Get your head out of your rear dude and stop protecting your deliquent children, your helping them grow up to be dirt bag adults.

Since the neighbor is a police officer, why didn't he go over and try to help the neighbor's son. Talk to him about drug rehab. That's alot better than standing with his arms folded staring at them, which is being very self-righteous and judgemental if you ask me. How does anyone know if this man isn't trying to help his son???? You without sin throw the first stone.......
