Brookfield Man Charged With Pointing Gun at Fiancee's Head
Charges allege the man pointed a gun at his fiancee and himself during an argument Sunday that became physical.
A Brookfield man allegedly pointed a gun at his fiancée and his own head during an altercation Sunday.
Patrick J. Crawford, 25, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with second degree reckless endangerment of safety, battery domestic abuse, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. If convicted, he faces nearly 12 years in prison and $46,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Monday, the victim went to the Brookfield Police Department and told officers she had gotten into an argument with her soon-to-be ex-fiancée Sunday inside their home in the 19000 block of Lothmoor Drive. During the argument Crawford slammed her into the wooden floor, then climbed onto her chest on his knees, she said.
He eventually got off, then picked her off the floor by her neck and threw her into a couch and wall. He began to get his stuff and found his gun, so the victim ran outside and hid, but Crawford soon found her. She told police he then pointed the gun at her head and said, "I want you to watch me do it, you did this."
The victim went back into the house and into a bedroom and Crawford followed her and placed the gun on a night stand. They talked, but Crawford snapped, grabbed the gun again and threw it at the victim, but the gun fell on the floor.
Crawford picked up the gun and then pointed it at the victim's face for 10 to 15 seconds, then pointed the gun at his own head. He then put the gun down, began to pace and begged the victim to not leave him.
He was being held in the Waukesha County Jail on $300 bond and scheduled to return to court Sept. 17.
