Materials Stolen from Former Quebecor Plant

Pipes were stolen from the former printing plant site where developers want to build a retail complex anchored by a Target store.

Five steel pipes were stolen from the parking lot of the former Quebecor World printing plant on Blue Mound Road near Brookfield's border with Wauwatosa.

Developers who want to build a at the former plant site recently told plan commissioners that copper piping also has been stolen from the site and other minor crimes committed.

A police report says there were no suspects in the latest theft of the steel pipes which occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday in the Quebecor lot, 12821 W. Blue Mound Road.

Police also were told that someone tried to break into a parked semitrailer truck in the same lot sometime between 5 p.m. June 13 and 7 a.m. June 14, according to police reports. The semitrailer was not entered nor anything taken, however.
