National Pie Day: Who Has Best Brookfield Area Pies?

In celebration of National Pie Day, Patch is highlighting local bakeries and pie sellers. Who do you recommend?

Today's National Pie Day and to celebrate, Patch is featuring local bakeries and pie sellers.

Who has the best pies in town? Let everyone know so we can give them a try!

Be sure to check out Patch's local business directory to search for our list of bakeries, restaurants and food retailers by a myriad of categories, including type of food, price, outdoor dining and more.

Bakers Square at 15300 W. Bluemound Rd. in Elm Grove has a long list of pies. National Bakery & Deli at 13820 W. Greenfield Ave., has a pie menu including double crust fruit, apple and cherry dumplings, cream pies and lemon meringue.

Here's a feature story we ran on a longtime Brookfield baker now running La Tarte across the border in Wauwatosa with a focus on pies.

And in honor of Pie Day, here's a pie crust recipe Oilerie Brookfield shared on its Facebook page:

2 cups graham cracker crumbs (14 crackers)
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup Oilerie cinnamon evoo
1/4 cup Oilerie walnut or hazelnut oil

Happy eating.

Got these recommendations on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/BrookfieldWIPatch): cherry pie at Loaf & Jug, and pies at National Bakery & Deli and Nora B's in Elm Grove. Any others with great pies? thanks

Bakers Square pies always taste fresh like the pie was baked the same day, so being a person that will only eat pie baked the very same day this place seems to come in first for me if I am using some of my precious calories on pie.

Now, if only someone could track down the gal that always made all the desserts for our old favorite spot formerly on the corner of North Avenue and Pilgrim Rd called Priscilla's Tea Room years ago, that would be another winner if she is still working in the community somewhere.

Hmm, thanks, lu. I'll have to ask around about that
