PHOTO: Women State Lawmakers Honor Girl Scouts' 100th Anniversary
As the Girl Scouts celebrate their 100th anniversary this year, female state legislators formed an honorary troop.
In honor of the Girl Scout's 100th anniversary, the organization created an Honorary Girl Scout Troop 1912 for 15 female state legislators.
Members of the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Alliance's four councils visited the state Capitol Tuesday to recognize the women lawmakers and brief them on efforts such as increasing the involvement of girls in STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
Troop 1912 leaders include Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Sens. Julie Lassa (D-Stevens Point) and Leah Vukmir (R-Wauwatosa), and Reps. Patricia Strachota (R-West Bend), Samantha Kerkman (R-Powers Lake) and Sondy Pope-Roberts (D-Middleton).
