Valentine's Day is just days away and maybe you're thinking about going out to dinner to celebrate.
So where is the best place for a couples dinner, a little romance, a night away from the kids, a great meal and relaxing atmosphere? Everything fondue at The Melting Pot? A bottle of wine and pizza at Louise's? A full-course meal at Mitchell's Fish Market? Kicking back with beers and sports on the big screens at Applebees?
To encourage you to share your restaurant experience and opinion, we're giving away a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice. For a chance to win the $50, you need to explain in the Comments section below which is the most romantic Brookfield restaurant and why. We'll do a random drawing from the commenters at midnight Monday, so get your vote in ASAP.

Mr. B's is romantic. The atmosphere in the
bar and restaurant is cozy, charming, and
elegant. The food is so delicious and the
wait staff is the best!

My husband knows he has my heart, but the way to my stomach is definitely a steak and baked potato. Fleming's is the best in the style of an old-style steakhouse! <3

The bar at Mitchell's Fish Market is an ideal romantic escape. The drinks are delicious - they make a mean Cosmo. Combine that with a cozy corner spot, your honey and a plate of fresh oysters on the half shell and watch things heat up!

Flemings is definitely the most romantic spot. The lights are dimmed, the service very special, the steaks great. Unfortunately, it is also probably the most expensive Brookfield dining establishment but well worth it for special occasions. My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there with our children and grandchildren. Very special.

I thought about that, Mary, when I looked at the list.... whether I was listing all the most expensive restaurants.

I'm going to throw in for one more favorite – PS23! The back room is quiet and a bit more intimate than the main dining room. The food and service are always great and the home grown vegetables (in season) are a delight. Best of all, you can scale the cost to your liking by selecting from different parts of the menu.

I vote for NorthStar for their combination of decor, excellent seasonal menu, great wine list, expert unobtrusive service and cozy booths. Definitely a place where you can celebrate a special occasion or have a casual weekday meal.
We also like Jakes, which was left off this list.

If you can picture a mild August night, candle lit table on the patio at Vino Cappuchino, maybe a wine flight Wednesday? I havent said a thing about the food yet. How about italian? Spaghetti al pesto? Nobody makes a pesto sauce at home with there spaghetti...they do here. How about eggplant parmesan? The food here is legit, and the service is just as good. Finish the night off with a slice of homeade cake. You dont need a chain restaurant to have a romantic date in Brookfield.

Mr.B's gets my vote. Whether you stop in for a drink, dine in the restaurant or visit the patio on a warm summer night ... the place is perfect for a couples night out. Plus, they have a great bar menu (burgers, steak sandwiches) which is also on the regular menu. I wish they were open for lunch during the year ... Not just December!

Flemings gets my vote. Nice decor, service, fantastic wines & STEAK. My wife & I celebrated Valentine's 2009 there and it was among the most memorable of our 20 together.

After taking a significant other on a date awhile back one evening to the Melting Pot in Brookfield, I have come to the conclusion that this is a unique and great place for a romantic time, plus enjoy tasty fondue choices.in multiple courses. The wine was splended and the wait staff was very friendly. Was a very memorable experience.

For me it is Carrabbas. It isn't uptight, like Fleming's, but rather warm and cozy. The lighting is always dim which is refreshing having to be surrounded by God awful flourescents daily. Whether it is just my husband and I or we have our kids, it always seems to be romantic. The kids stay entertained by playing with pizza dough and hubby and I catch up over a 2-for-1 cocktail (that pleases the hubby:).

Who doesn't love the tableside guac and a zillion margarita flavors at Jose's!? Family friendly but still a nice crowd. This is as romantic as it gets for us with 3 teenagers at home!

NorthStar Bistro is the place now that The Grove closed. It has cozy booths for our private conversations and wonderful food with great service. They have a nice selection of wines too! We often go there for our special occasions and they have daily specials as well. Never have been disappointed. Lunches are great too. We highly recommend it.

Vino Cappucino would be my romantic restaurant of choice. I love their fireplace along with a nice glass of merlot. Pretty much everything on their menu is delicious. A gift certificate would make a night at Vino Cappucino even more special. :)

While I don't normally recommend franchised restaurants I think that Carrabbas has a lot to offer. The wonderful menu filled with family favorite recipes. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The lighting sets an amazing ambiance. This place wins me over. My husband and I have enjoyed a variety of the wines and favorite dishes.

1st Place: Melting Pot... in addition to being delicious, the concept just forces you to slow down and enjoy one another
2nd Place: Parkside 23
Haven't been to Flemings, I have a hunch that would be up there too.
Also have to say that we like Jake's in Pewaukee a lot too.
