School Board Urges Congress Not To Make Across-The-Board Cuts
Budget Control Act of 2011 will mean a loss of $149,000 for Elmbrook schools, according to the district.
The Elmbrook School Board adopted a resolution earlier this week urging Congress not to make "across-the-board" cuts to public education.
According to the district, the Budget Control Act of 2011, which goes into effect Jan. 2, will shrink federal funding for public education by 8.2 percent.
The decrease in funding represents a loss of $149,000 to the Elmbrook School District.
The resolution said that the cuts would have "a detrimental impact upon the District."
