Snow Begins to Accumulate In Brookfield

Snow accumulation is expected to be 4 to 6 inches with winds northeast from 10 to 20 mph. Gusts may be has high as 45 mph.

 

After being soggy this morning, Brookfield is becoming a winter wonderland as the oncoming snowstorm made its way through town on Thursday. 

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from midnight Wednesday through 3 a.m. Friday for the City of Brookfield as it expects to have about 4 to 6 inches of snow and high winds from 10 to 20 mph. Gusts may be has high as 45 mph. 

This prompted Elmbrook School District to call off school today. 

The storm will bring rain, snow and mix sleet through this afternoon, into the evening and through tomorrow morning.  

Traveling will be treacherous throughout the afternoon and through the evening with roadways covered with blowing and drifting snow.

The weather service says to only travel in a emergency and if you must travel, bring a flashlight, food and water in your vehicle.
