Brookfield East's Alec James Considering UW, Arkansas, Michigan, Oregon
James, who was named defensive player of the year in 2012, will make his decision by the end of the week.
The 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds high school senior was named the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association defensive player of the year in 2012. He recorded 11 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, 44 solo tackles and 97 total tackles in 11 games, reported the Journal Sentinel.
Swittel said James should be making his final decision by the end of this week.
James met this weekend with UW coach Gary Andersen and his assistants, who are making James a priority.
James gave UW a non-binding oral commitment last summer. However, that changed when Bret Bielema left UW for Arkansas. Bielema took several members of the UW staff that included defensive line coach Charlie Partridge.
Swittel told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel James has always been impressed with Michigan State and Oregon.
