Brookfield East forensics at Sharon Lynne (FRI): The Brookfield East Forensics Team will present its performances that will compete at the 2012 NCFL and NFL National Tournament. Pancake breakfast, car show and sock-hop dance (SAT): American Legion Post 449 will hold special events on Saturday for Armed Forces Day at the legion post, 3245 N. 124th St., Brookfield. A pancake breakfast ($6 for adults, $4 for children ages 3 to 12) will be held from 8 a.m. to noon; a car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with trophies, raffles and food; and a sock hop dance featuring The Starlites at 8 p.m. All events are free to attend.

Kerwin Hackett Benefit (SAT): A car wash, raffle and dance will be held Saturday to help the family of Kerwin Hackett, an 8th grader at Pilgrim Park Middle School seriously injured in a skiing accident during a trip to South Korea in December. The car wash will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Park, 1500 Pilgrim Parkway, Elm Grove, with a raffle and silent auction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and DJ/Dance from 6 to 9 p.m.
