Gebhardt Road bike/pedestrian path: A plan to install an asphalt path along Gebhardt from Brookfield to Barker roads will be explained at a public informational meeting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd.
New Berlin-Brookfield fire services agreement: Brookfield Fire Chief Charlie Myers will give a presentation explaining the city's new agreement with New Berlin fire officials to swap services in southeastern Brookfield and northeastern New Berlin. The report will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd.
Mosque information session: The city will hold an open-house style public informational meeting on the Islamic Society of Milwaukee West's plans to build a mosque. The meeting is open to the public from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Public Safety Building at 2100 N. Calhoun Rd. More on the mosque
Garden Talk with Master Gardener Jeff Trader: Brookfield resident and Master Gardener Jeff Trader will share pictures and ideas for your garden. He will discuss garden design and sight selection, using perennials, and the all important issue of deterring deer in the Brookfield and Elm Grove area. It's at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Rd.
Old World Wisconsin opens Tuesday: The state historical museum and site opens for the season Tuesday. Hours (through June 9; hours change after that) are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Events this weekend include presentations on sheep shearing, a bird walk and a 5K walk/run.
Junie B. Jones play: Two shows featuring the naughty-and-nice children's book character Junie B. Jones will be performed at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Dr. Tickets
Brookfield East High Junior Prom: will be held at the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee Friday night.
Community Shredding Day at North Shore Bank: From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, North Shore Bank will be accepting paper for shredding at all sites including its headquarters at 15700 W. Bluemound Rd. where two trucks will be ready. Brenden McDaniel of the TV show Hoarders, will be on hand to discuss at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. how to create a clutter-free environment and create organized living spaces. There also will be a drawing to win $1,500 of free gas.
Brookfield Farmers Market begins: At 7:30 a.m. Saturday the Brookfield Farmers Market reopens for the season, which runs through the end of October. The market is open from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays in the Civic Plaza next to City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd.
Civil War Encampment: The Elmbrook Historical Society reopens the Dousman Stagecoach Inn and Museum with its annual big event, the Civil War Encampment, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Ticket details here and photos from last year's encampment.
Run for the Hills! (former Hillside Hawk Run): A timed 5K Run/Walk, kids' fun run, and celebrity Mascot Race will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Park, starting at the Mitchell Park Pavilion and heading through Fox Brook Park.
