Elmbrook Special Education parents engagement meeting: A kickoff meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brookfield Central High School, 16900 W. Gebhardt Rd.
Town financing district for Von Maur / The Corners: A Joint Review Board, comprised of representatives from Waukesha County, the Town of Brookfield, Waukesha School District, Waukesha County Technical College and State, will review a proposed $37 million public financing plan to spur the redevelopment near I-94 and Barker Road. Meeting is at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall, 645 Janacek Rd.
Elmbrook Superintendent Chat: Newly hired Superintendent Mark Hansen will meet with the public from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brookfield East High School's black box theater, 3305 Lilly Rd. Hear about 2012-13 focuses and ask questions at the informal forum hosted by the Elmbrook Parent Network and Leadership Council.
Water sale to Elm Grove, non-representated staff pay raises: Aldermen will discuss these issues, as well as sidewalk sales, a new manufacturing business and a closed session on litigation with the Town of Brookfield over its request to become a village. Meeting starts at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd.
Completion of Bluemound Road construction: A ribbon-cutting will be held at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday near the Double Tree Hotel, 18155 W. Bluemound Rd., to mark the near completion of the major corridor's reconstruction.
A Taste of Chocolate: A program at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Rd., revels in everything chocolate. Julie Waterman of Indulgence Chocolatiers will discuss chocolate history and tastings and offer samples to try. The 6:30 p.m. Wednesday program is free but patrons must register by calling library at 262-782-4140, option 1.
Yo Mama's benefit for Brookfield El: Stop by Yo Mama's all day Thursday, mention Brookfield Elementary at the register and the frozen yogurt and toppings shop will donate a portion of its proceeds to the school.
Brookfield Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to noon, the Brookfield Farmers Market is held in the parking lots and Civic Plaza next to City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd. Saturday Aug. 19 is Market & More day with additional vendors.
