Southeastern Wisconsin will see what the National Weather Service calls a "prolonged period of snow" on Friday, tapering off early on Saturday, putting the area's northern half under a Winter Weather Advisory until 3 a.m. Saturday. 

Ozaukee, Washington and Fond du Lac counties are expected to see the most snowfall, with  3 - 5 inches forecast, while most others will pick up about 1 - 3 inches, including Brookfield. Lakeshore counties of Milwaukee and Racine may get a little help from the lake effect, giving them 2 - 4 inches.

While not a full-frontal snow assault, the duration of the storm will make roads slick for much of the day, so exercise caution when driving, including keeping your headlights on and allowing for greater following distances with the vehicles in front of you.
