Cruisin' the Grove Scheduled for Aug. 4

Watertown Plank Road between Juneau and Legion will be host to the 1st Annual “On the Street” Classic Car and Motorcycle Show as part of “Cruisin’ the Grove” on Sun., Aug. 4 between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Benefitting the Milwaukee Heat youth wheelchair basketball team, all makes and models of classic cars and motorcycles can register for the Show between 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  There is no fee to participate, but a tax-deductible donation to benefit the Milwaukee Heat is encouraged.

To be held rain or shine, dash plaques will be given to the first 100 registrants.  The Show will award nine participant awards (first – third in car and motorcycle and fourth – six combined), with two Committee Choice awards and one Young Gun award.  Captain Bob and Arlo, hosts of the Wisconsin Hotrod Radio Show, will serve as judges, plus play music during the event.

In addition to the display of cars and motorcycles, the free admission event will feature a vendor/sponsor area plus food and beverages available for purchase.

Jean Davidson, granddaughter of Walter Davidson, and her son Jon Davidson Oeflein will be at the Show selling and signing copies of their new book, “Harley-Davidson Family Memories,” which provides a  personal glimpse behind the scenes of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.  The book includes more than 250 photographs collected from family members, personal collectors, rare magazines, long-time employees, and dealers.
