Student Organizational Workshop

The Vision Therapy Center is hosting an organization workshop for students. The workshop will run two days, Tuesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 22 from 8:30am to 12:30pm. and will be held at The Vision Therapy Center's Brookfield location. It includes a 30-minute individual follow-up with each student to see how their organizational strategies are working once school starts.

The workshop is geared for students in 3rd grade and up.  Participants in the workshop will learn time management skills including:

  • How to manage family responsibilities, rigorous academic standards, extra-curricular activities, and social activities.
  • How to prioritize tasks, activities, and events by using calendars, assignment notebooks, and PDA’s. 
  • How to organize their personal belongings and school materials to save time and prevent lost school assignments.

According to Dr. Kellye Knueppel, owner of The Vision Therapy Center, "Taking responsibility for managing their time and possessions is a process that will benefit students personally, academically, and in their future careers."

She added, "For students who are in vision therapy or have completed it already, it’s a critical skill to learn."

Workshop Instructor – Stephanie Lundgren

Stephanie Lundgren currently teaches Gifted and Talented students and remedial reading students at Madison Elementary School in West Allis. She is also teaches technology skills to the students and employees of the district.

Stephanie earned her BS in Urban Early through Middle Childhood Education at the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts in Education – Literacy and Second Language Development from Cardinal Stritch University.

She has taught in several grade level classrooms, kindergarten through sixth grade as well as Intermediate School Math and Science. For the last two years she has been doing pre-testing and learning about how vision affects learning.

Workshop Details:

Who: The workshop is suited for students 3rd grade and up.

When:  Tuesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 22 from 8:30am to 12:30pm. We will provide class materials and a snack break each day.

Where:  The Vision Therapy Center, 13255 West Bluemound Road, Suite 200, Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Cost:  The workshop costs $79.  Besides the two-day workshop, it includes a 30-minute individual follow-up with each student to see how their organizational strategies are working for them once school starts.
