Brookfield Residents Rally Around Ruby Farms

A group of residents who call themselves the Concerned Calhoun Community group hopes to preserve some buildings on the Ruby Farms property as the area is developed.

A group of about 40 residents is working to save some of Brookfield's history.

The Concerned Calhoun Community group met this week to discuss its desire to preserve the agricultural buildings on the 66-acre site owned by commercial real estate firm Irgens, according to a Brookfieldnow.com article.

Development plans include offices, retail and residences, but the Concerned Calhoun hope Irgens will maintain some historical farm buildings constructed in the mid-1800s.
