Elmbrook Humane Society Offers Range of Events, Programs In January

BINGO, P.E.T.S meeting, Book Club meeting, Puppy Packer Photo Day and play date begin exciting year at the society.

The Elmbrook Humane Society, which serves Brookfield, offers a wide-range of services, programs and events. Below is a list of what is going on at the society in January.

Hamburger Mary's BINGO
Sunday, January 6, 7-9pm
Location: Hamburger Mary's, 2130 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. Milwaukee

Join us at Hamburger Mary's for a fun night of BINGO!  This isn't your typical Bingo though.  EBHS will receive 100% of the proceeds from Bingo cards, so the more people the merrier! 

P.E.T.S. Meeting
Monday, January 7, starting at 5:30pm
Location: Panera Bread, 2095 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield
Volunteers Wanted!  Love to party?  Love animals?  EBHS is looking for passionate people to plan fundraising events to benefit the shelter.  No experience is needed to join.  To become a member of the PETS Group, contact Rachel at rachel@ebhs.org or (262) 754-6597.

Book Club Meeting
Thursday, January 10, starting at 6:30pm
Location: Elmbrook Humane Society, 20950 Enterprise Avenue, Brookfield
We will be discussing the book, "Wallace," by Jim Gorant. Love to read but find it difficult to discuss your favorite books with your furry friends? Then join the EBHS book club!

Puppy Packer Photo Day
Saturday, January 12, 12-3pm
Location: Elmbrook Humane Society, 20950 Enterprise Avenue, Brookfield
Photos sponsored by Spa Paw and Tail.  Does your pup love the Pack just as much as you?  Bring your dog for photos at our awesome Packer themed photoshoot to benefit the shelter animals at EBHS. $15 per photo, printed while you wait.

Central Bark Playdate
Saturday, January 19, 10am-12pm
Location: Central Bark Sussex, W227N6193 Sussex Road, Sussex
Bring your beloved pooch to Central Bark's indoor playdate to burn off energy during these cold winter days.  $3.00 to play per dog and 100% of that is donated to EBHS.

It is a tremendous opportunity for growth by the young adult, as well as the host family! If you have even the slightest bit of interest, I'd encourage you to contact Bill Petterson from the Elmbrook Rotary. It's a long-standing international program with many checks and balances so the experience is beneficial for all concerned.

We hosted a high school girl from Thailand three years ago and we continue that friendship with herRead More and her family. Not only do you, as a host family give a young person from another country a better understanding of America and Americans, but you learn about the perspectives and viewpoints of people from a totally different culture. It opens up our world view. If you have never hosted, do it!
