Near-Record Hot Temperatures Expected for Thursday

Even though September is just around the corner, Wisconsin hasn't quite escaped the heat yet. Temperatures are expected in the 90s for Thursday.

Just when cool summer nights offered some proof that the season was ready to transition into chilly fall days — another near record-breaking temperature is expected for Thursday.

The record high for this date in Milwaukee is 96. Brookfield is expected to hit 95, according to the National Weather Service.

Humidity levels are expected to be low throughout the afternoon, the weather service said, which lowers the heat's "deadly afftects."

On Friday, Brookfield's high is predicted at 89, with more comfortable temperatures over the weekend of 79 Saturday and 80 Sunday.

Children or pets should not be left in vehicles in such extreme temperatures. The elderly must take extra precautions in the hot weather. Read more on Patch.
