No Basement Backups Reported in Brookfield

Heavy rains in the last few days have left standing water throughout Brookfield and the area, but the wastewater utility doesn't have any reports of basement flooding.

No major problems with flooding or basement backups have been reported to Brookfield’s wastewater utility.

Stanley Kucharski, operations supervisor at the utility, said a few people had some water collecting on basement floors Thursday morning when power outages claimed their sump pumps briefly. But that water was directed to basement floor drains and didn’t cause damage.

The city reported zero sanitary sewer overflows or basement backups due to sewer backup in 2012, according to an annual report.
