We live directly across from the entrance to the proposed quarry dump project on Burleigh Road. In fact, one of the Lamplighter Park signs in located on the corner of my lot. This project will impact my neighbor, Mr. Peter Hauser and myself more than any other Brookfield resident.
My wife and I are outraged at the present dump proposal. We can’t tell you how upset and disappointed we will be if the quarry dump project is approved.
I purchased and have lived in this home since 1976. I retired 6 years ago and never expected the City of Brookfield, State of Wisconsin or Department of Transportation to support a project that will totally destroy the quality of my family’s life for 5 to 7 years.
The noise, dust, dirt, traffic, danger to private vehicles and pedestrians, plus the vibration, will be unbearable. It will also have a catastrophic impact on wildlife and native vegetation in this area.
Remember we live directly across from the proposed dump entrance.
- Proposed project will last 5 to 7 years
- Dump trucks will operate
- 12 hours a day
- 5 days a week
- 16 dump trucks trips an hour
- 1 dump truck trip every 4 minutes
- Trucks weigh 38,000 lbs. empty
- Lower property value
- Earth moving equipment noise and vibration
Based on these discussions, can I assume my real estate taxes and those of my neighbors will also be significantly reduced based on our lower value of my property?
I request your assistance in rejecting the proposed quarry dump project, and or necessary approvals and permits.
