'All I Want For Christmas' — Letters to Santa

Brookfield children penned letters to Santa sent to the North Pole.

Long before putting out the plate of cookies and milk for Santa — or carrots and apples for the reindeer, Brookfield children penned some letters to Santa.

Here are a few, which were shared before they were to Santa Claus. Amid the gift wish lists were colorful drawings, hearts and message such as these:

"Dear Santa, I hope I do not get coal...."

"Dear Santa, How are the reindeer? Can I pet them?"

"I know Christmas is about Christ, but I was thinking about some (gift) ideas."

"Please write back. How is the North Pole? Can you send me pictures? I hope I am on the 'nice' list. I am going to try extra hard to be good for this month."

And one parent jotted this note for a wee one too young to write: "I am scared of Santa. I want a dinosaur and a pet raccoon. I like nothing else."
