Spring Break Stay-cations

Great local places to visit and stay during spring break.

Stay-cation spring breaks may be more popular this year, as gas and airline prices keep rising, as does violence and unrest south of the border in Mexico. Our latest Patch Picks installment lists five great local places to stay and visit while on spring break in the Brookfield area.

With the Milwaukee Bucks season winding down and the Milwaukee Brewers regular season just about to begin, the Brookfield Suites is currently offering a Brewers sports package for spring breakers or family vacationers. The package includes overnight stay for two adults and two children, a complimentary cooked to order breakfast, complimentary snacks at the hotel's tailgate party at Miller Park and transportation to and from Miller Park. 4. Miller Park Spring Walk-Up Tour, One Brewer Way, Milwaukee

Experience the magnificence of Miller Park while enjoying an exclusive tour that includes the dugout, luxury suite level, visiting clubhouse, press box, Bob Uecker's broadcast booth and other behind-the-scenes attractions. During non-game days, tour hours are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. There are several April dates where tours are closed, so call 414-902-4888 for more information or to reserve large group tours.

5. Upcoming Milwaukee Brewer Game with Promotion, One Brewer Way, Milwaukee

For most people, there is nothing better to do during a spring break vacation than to spend the day or night at a Milwaukee Brewers game. Add tailgating and the several destinations inside Miller Park to visit, and your time on spring break becomes even more enjoyable. During the season, the Brewers are offering a promotion called “Brewers $13 Fair Fridays”. The promotion includes one terrace reserved seat ticket to one of the 13 Friday Brewer games scheduled throughout the season, and one general admission ticket to the Wisconsin State Fair in August. The ticket is valid for marquee opponents such as the Chicago Cubs, St. Lois Cardinals and Minnesota Twins.
