The Great Escape: A New Kind of Workout

Being a mother is a demanding, yet rewarding job, but even we need to take some personal time off now and again.

You’ve heard the saying “a happy mother means a happy family,” right?  Well, it’s true.  You fulfill multiple roles day in and day out, and that’s just within the home! In order to be a happy mother, you need time for you, even if it’s for a few minutes a day.

We’re going to help remind you to take that much needed and deserved “me time” in Patch’s weekly feature, ‘The Great Escape."  Each week we’ll tell you about one great place you can escape to with your spouse, your girlfriends, or by yourself.

Miss Pole, at 17800 W. Bluemound Rd. in Brookfield, offers a fun and entertaining pole workout sure to burn calories and help moms feel sexy.  From their website: “Miss Pole is committed to inspiring ALL women to feel confident, sexy and strong! Providing a safe and encouraging environment for budding pole twirlers, Miss Pole aims to make pole dancing and exotic fitness a sexy, fun, and challenging calorie-burning blast.”  If you aren’t quite sure about the pole classes, they also offer speciality classes, such as zumba, yoga conditioning, burlesque and hoop dancing classes.  The prices are about $85 for a six-week speciality class.

Their classes are unique and some may say a bit risque, but they abide by professional standards to ensure the safety of all their students.  If you are interested in checking out a pole class, but feel nervous about being in a class with strangers you can gather up your girlfriends and book a private party session. Otherwise, the class sizes are kept small.

Miss Pole also has a Girls Night Out scheduled March 25, in which the proceeds go to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
