The Elm Grove Community Foundation is holding a joint event with the Elm Grove Business Association on Friday, May 25 at the Sunset Playhouse to debut its project “Sitting Pretty.”
The Foundation is working with a group of local artists to design custom benches for the businesses in Downtown Elm Grove. The idea of the benches is that they are representative of the individual businesses.
The benches are for sale to the businesses with the procurement of the benches and artists handled by the foundation. Businesses that choose to participate can work directly with an artist on concept, color and design of the benches. During good weather months the benches would be displayed outside the businesses and rolled into the businesses after hours and during poor weather. The benches will have rollers on the bottom for ease of movement.

The first bench, done for the Sunset Playhouse, has been completed and will be on display during the wine and cheese reception set for 6 p.m. on Friday, May 25.
