Majestic Cinema Showing Special Broadcast Events

Starting Sunday, movie-goes can watch special performances on the big screen.

Want to see national broadcast events like the Bolshoi Ballet performing Coppélia, Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton jamming together or an international blockbuster boxing event on the big screen?

Starting tomorrow, Marcus Theatres has partnered with various national digital broadcast networks to provide alternate programming, such as performances, sporting events and other entertainment to its moviegoers throughout the Midwest.

Coppélia

The world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet delights audiences Sunday, Aug. 28, 11:00 a.m., with this captivating story of a beautiful doll who comes to life and enchants a townsman named Franz. His fiancé Swanhilda is furious and dresses up as the doll to fool Franz into loving her again. Chaos ensues, but the tale holds a happy ending for all. With original choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Leo Delibes, Coppélia is as charming today as it was when it first hit the stage in 1870. Admission: $15.00.

Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton Play the Blues

Jazz great Wynton Marsalis and legendary Eric Clapton team up Wednesday, Sept. 7, 7:30 p.m., to present a spellbinding evening of blues, rock and jazz songs performed live from the Lincoln Center Annual Gala in this one night spectacular. The duo is accompanied by a dazzling eight member orchestra compromised of the Jazz at the Lincoln Center musicians. This performance also offers unique behind-the-scenes footage of the sold-out show.  Admission: $12.50

Mayweather vs. Ortiz Fight Live

This event is a blockbuster night for boxing featuring three match-ups Saturday, Sept. 17, 7:00 p.m., live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Mexico City, including the biggest fight of Mexican Independence Day. The main bout will be a sensational showdown between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and “Vicious” Victor Ortiz. The two other fights will include rising stars Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Erik Morales amongst other top contenders. PG-13. Admission: $18.00

Swan Lake

This exceptional ballet performance Sunday, Sept. 18, 11:00 a.m., featuring the Bolshoi Ballet’s biggest stars will enchant ballet and live entertainment enthusiasts everywhere. Tchaikovsky’s magnificent music gracefully accompanies the steps of ballerina Mariya Aleksandrova as she takes on the dual role of Odette and Odile. Swan Lake will memorize audiences with its hauntingly beautiful story and awe-inspiring dance. Admission: $15.00.
