Miss America Pageant Contestants to Perform at Sharon Lynne Thursday

Miss Oklahoma, Miss New York, Miss Arizona, Miss California and the former Miss Wisconsin now Miss America will perform their talents Thursday at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.

Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler and her four runners-up will perform a 90-minute show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the , 19805 W. Capitol Dr.

Kaeppeler, 23, of Kenosha, will perform her talent from the Jan. 14 Miss America Pageant show, as will Miss Oklahoma, Betty Thompson; Miss New York, Kaitlin Monte; Miss Arizona, Jennifer Sedler; and Miss California, Noelle Freeman.

Also appearing will be Miss Wisconsin 2011, Raeanna Johnson; Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2012, Elizabeth Fechtel; and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2010, Wisconsin’s own Jeanette Morelan.

“This the only opportunity in Southeastern Wisconsin to see Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler perform while she is briefly home in Wisconsin,” Mark Ostendorf, Miss Wisconsin Homecoming Committee Member, said in a news release.  “This is a great time to bring the entire family out for a special evening.”

Ticket prices are $25, $20 for students, and $15 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available by phone at The Wilson Center at 262-781-9520 or online or at the door.

Kaeppeler is the founder of Circles of Support, which was created to reduce the endless cycle of crime by mentoring children of incarcerated parents. She also works closely with Children’s Hospital and is the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

A vocal music graduate from Carthage College, Kaeppeler plans to attend law school to pursue a career in Childhood Advocacy Law.
