The school will also be expanding its facilities this year.

With songs, worship and excitement, Brookfield Christian School opened its 50th school year this morning, reflecting on the theme of "God is Faithful to All Generations."

"A 50th anniversary year provides us all a great context of humility and thanksgiving to look back and celebrate God’s goodness to BCS over the past half century," said principal Kevin Vos. "But it also provides a context of challenge; and a reminder that all of us – students, teachers, and families alike – are called to be faithful stewards of a work in the kingdom of God that is larger than any of us individually and that spans generations."

BCS began the year with a special chapel service built around the theme of God’s faithfulness. The school’s theme for the new year is drawn from Deuteronomy 7: 9 – “Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. “

This year, BCS will also be breaking ground on an expansion of its facilities. Vos said that the expansion was needed to accommodate continued growth in the school.

“God has blessed us with strong enrollment growth over the past years, but that has put a strain on the capacity of our existing facilities. Our expansion project is our response in faith to that blessing, and it a concrete expression of our continued commitment to offer as many families as possible an option for education that is uncompromisingly rigorous academically and unapologetically intentional in incorporating faith into every aspect of learning.”

BCS is located on the corner of Lilly and Burleigh Roads in Brookfield and serves 241 students in 3K through 8th grade.
