8 Twelve MVP Bar and Grill Delivering More Than Food

Ryan Braun's and Aaron Rodgers' restaurant has not just given the community food, but has made it a point to give its fair share back. An event Wednesday night is part of that commitment.

They buy local. And when local tragedy hits, they try to assist. Managers at 8 Twelve MVP bar and restaurant say they want their establishment to be more than a restaurant. They're striving for a sense of community.

8 Twelve opened on June 2, 2012 in honor of two of the biggest figureheads in Wisconsin sports during this era, the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun. 8 Twelve wanted to become more than just a restaurant, said Assistant General Manager Miguel Sanchez, who helps foster this identity. ”We focus on more than just sports memorabilia here,” Sanchez said.

“We support the local concept and try to keep everything in the neighborhood,” Sanchez said. They embrace this concept by bringing in majority of their menu items from the Hidden Creek Farms, located in New London, Wisconsin.

Along with bringing majority of their food from the state, 8 Twelve has made a conscious effort to give back to a community during some of its darker times.

8 Twelve focused its star power to help out familes of the victims of the Azana Spa shooting. They hosted a fundraiser that involved a silent auction that helped raise $63,000.

This Wednesday, 8 Twelve will host another charity event. This time they will take the money they receive and buy toys, games, and videos for children at Froedtert Hospital.  Ryan Braun, along with the SURG group, is hosting the event at the restaurant.
