Brookfield Business Gets Honorable Mention for Ethics Award

Spectrum Communications Services in Brookfield received an honorable mention Wednesday in Wisconsin Better Business Bureau's 2011 Business Ethics Torch Awards.

Spectrum, a telephone answering service and call center business at 125 N. Executive Dr., was one of 11 state businesses selected as finalists last month for the annual recognition. The winners were announced Wednesday at a banquet at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

The award recognizes Wisconsin businesses that "demonstrate excellence in ethical practices, service excellence, reputation, honest advertising, peer recognition, management practices and employee training in ethical behavior," the nonprofit BBB said.

“It’s our pleasure to shine the spotlight on these companies, all of whom put a high priority on ethics and integrity with their customers, their employees and their vendors,” said Randall Hoth, president and CEO of the Wisconsin BBB. “I applaud their commendable business practices and their commitment to doing things the right way.”

The five winners were:

Charity – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Category I (1 to 5 employees) – Kerzner Remodeling & Construction, Oconomowoc.

Category II (6 to 50 employees) – The Starr Group, Greenfield.

Category III (51 to 500 employees) – Batzner Pest Management, New Berlin.

Category IV (more than 500 employees) – Sargento Foods, Plymouth.
