Brookfield Man Named Nonprofit CFO of the Year

The Business Journal's annual list of the area's top chief financial officers includes a Brookfield resident who was recognized in the nonprofit category.

Brookfield resident Jeffrey D. Allen, chief financial officer at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, was named CFO of the Year for nonprofits by The Business Journal.

The annual awards recognize chief financial officers or heads of finance who are making a difference in their organizations, the accounting profession and within their communities.

“Jeff is a true leader in driving BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s financial culture and ensuring that the organization remains financially healthy so we can continue to advance its mission of saving lives,” said Jacquelyn Fredrick, BloodCenter’s CEO and president.

Fredrick said Allen's financial planning help the BloodCenter “serve the changing healthcare needs of the community.”

In Allen's decade as CFO, the BloodCenter’s revenue has nearly doubled and BloodCenter Research Foundation’s assets have increased two and a half times.

Under Allen, the BloodCenter became the first blood center in the country to receive a Standard & Poor’s rating.

Allen also is a busy with youth sports, coaching more than 60 sports in 15 years.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to work for an organization that makes such a meaningful impact on the lives and health of so many people,” Allen said of the BloodCenter.

“I am very proud of our consistent track record that has provided the necessary financial foundation to support our mission critical activities,” he said. “And I am blessed to get to work with such a talented team of individuals who dedicate themselves to the mission and our success.”
