Charitable Fashion Affair Hosted by Brookfield Salon

Roots Spa & Salon, located in Brookfield and Greendale, is holding its annual fashion show to benefit the Children's Hospital and Penfield Children's Center.

Spend your Friday night in style for a great cause with Roots Salon of Brookfield and Greendale as they make fundraising fashionable!

The third annual Roots Salon Fashion Affair 2012 is as much a celebration of talent, creativity and inspiration as it is a movement to strengthen community relationships and raise funds for causes near and dear to Roots owners Shannon Lopez and Naomi Prusinski.

The evening will consist of eight unique runs collaborated between Roots' top stylists and local boutiques that include Sparrow Collective (Bay View), Allure Intimate Apparel (Mequon/Brookfield), Savvy Bride (Brookfield), Francesca’s (Brookfield/Bayshore/Wauwatosa), Dancerz Closet (Waukesha), The Art Institute of Wisconsin (Third Ward), and Urban Laundry (Wauwatosa).

Themes for this year’s show will take viewers on a sensual journey from very wearable fall fashion presentations inspired by animal instincts and adult grunge to very bold editorial presentations inspired by 18th Century Rave.

Attendees will also enjoy halftime presentations by Milwaukee’s Own Hip Hop Group Colossal Connexion, live auction Emceed by Wes McKane and Leigh McNabb, an after-party with a live DJ, and ping pong entertainment by Spin Milwaukee.

This June marked the five-year anniversary of Roots Salon & Spa — Brookfield. There also locations in Greendale and Third Ward.

Roots has raised over $30,000 from both their two annual fundraisers. Each spring they host Cuts4ACause where they cut for free for donations at all locations and the fall Fashion Affair.

Inspired by Jim Ryan, a close family friend and previous president of Penfield Children’s Center, who lost his life to cancer, Lopez and Prusinski have decided to support both Penfield and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s H.O.T. Unit in their fundraising efforts.

All of the net proceeds from this event benefit the research programs and needs of Children’s Hospitals H.O.T. Unit and Penfield Children’s Center.

Over 1,000 people are expected to attend. The event has an ambitious fundraising goal of $10,000 to $20,000.
