Free Oatmeal Thursday at McDonald's

In honor of children heading back to school, McDonald's locations in Brookfield and southeastern Wisconsin are offering oatmeal to students from 6 to 9 a.m. Thursday.

Brookfield's McDonald's locations — and about 120 other McDonald's in southeastern Wisconsin — will be from 6 to 9 a.m. Thursday to mark the new school year.

Customers are asked to either bring a student I.D. or be accompanied by an adult.

The oatmeal breakfast is filled with a half cup of fruit including raisins, cranberries and red and green apples.

"McDonald's is committed to the well-being of children in the communities we serve and offering our customers the best quality, on-the-go food choices to meet their everyday nutritional needs," Robert Pyles, president of McDonald's southeastern Wisconsin co-op, said in a press release.

"This back-to-school season we are excited to offer a hearty breakfast choice to children and help propel their academic success this new school year."

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is listed in conjunction with the promotion.

In addition to the Brookfield McDonald's locations, McDonald's restaurants in all of these counties are offering the oatmeal freebie: Waukesha, Milwaukee, Washington, Walworth, Jefferson, Dodge, Sheboygan, Racine and Kenosha.
