Update: See which restaurant and reader won: http://patch.com/A-qQj0

Valentine's Day is just days away and maybe you're thinking about going out to dinner to celebrate.

So where is the best place for a couples dinner, a little romance, a night away from the kids, a great meal and relaxing atmosphere? Everything fondue at The Melting Pot? A bottle of wine and pizza at Louise's? A full-course meal at Mitchell's Fish Market? Kicking back with beers and sports on the big screens at Applebees?

To encourage you to share your restaurant experience and opinion, we're giving away a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice. For a chance to win the $50, you need to explain in the Comments section below which is the most romantic Brookfield restaurant and why. We'll do a random drawing from the commenters at midnight Monday, so get your vote in ASAP.

You'll also be helping your fellow Brookfield residents learn more about the restaurants in their backyard.

Bonefish Grill for me...the food is fantastic, they have a great drink selection (Winter Whiteberry yummy!) and I love the lighting and decor. Very warm & cozy for a romantic dinner.

Mr. B's is romantic. The atmosphere in the
bar and restaurant is cozy, charming, and elegant. The food is so delicious and the wait staff is the best!

I CHOSE HOOTERS THE GIRLS MAKE ME ROMANTIC MY GIRLFRIEND DOES'NT SHE'S FAT AND UGLY
Nameless February 13, 2012 at 01:39 am
The Hooters up here have poor talent. Gotta go down south where some real girls won't hurt your eyes.
Nameless February 13, 2012 at 01:41 am
This is much better than Menomonee Falls' contest. But then again Brookfield has everything including the best restaurants. Put me down for Mr. B's.
Jill Baker February 13, 2012 at 01:46 pm
Cafe One24 is a great spot for a romantic dinner - the atmosphere and service are great, it's small, quiet, and the food and wine are fantastic.
Lisa Sink (Editor) February 13, 2012 at 01:50 pm
Ooo. Starting a Brookfield-Falls fight eh? You're down for Mr. B's.
Michele Pavlovic February 13, 2012 at 02:06 pm
For me it is Carrabbas. It isn't uptight, like Fleming's, but rather warm and cozy. The lighting is always dim which is refreshing having to be surrounded by God awful flourescents daily. Whether it is just my husband and I or we have our kids, it always seems to be romantic. The kids stay entertained by playing with pizza dough and hubby and I catch up over a 2-for-1 cocktail (that pleases the hubby:).

We really enjoy the Historic Red Mill. Great food, wonderful service, and a quiet atmosphere perfect for romantic dinners!

Jake's! Good old-fashioned steak dinner! And a great patio in summer too!
Todd Prudlow February 13, 2012 at 02:54 pm
Mr. B's is by far the best choice....fantastic food & atmosphere.
Julie Corbin February 13, 2012 at 10:46 pm
Bonefish Grill for the great atmosphere, wonderful service and gluten free menu!
Dave February 13, 2012 at 10:50 pm
Mr. B's is by-far the most romantic place in town. The service is top-notch and the servers know when to leave a couple to themselves. Great job!
Nicole February 13, 2012 at 10:54 pm
Who doesn't love the tableside guac and a zillion margarita flavors at Jose's!? Family friendly but still a nice crowd. This is as romantic as it gets for us with 3 teenagers at home!

The wife and I don't get to many expensive places so I would have to choose Olive Garden. Great food. Great service. Italian music!

Go to Tokyo Restaurant off Bluemound in Elm Grove and get a cozy booth. Then order the love boat for two and share it with your love one! YUM!

I always have a great time at Mitchels with my wife, food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful.

I like the Melting Pot - you have privacy and chocolate fondue - how romantic!
Simple as that!

NorthStar Bistro is the place now that The Grove closed. It has cozy booths for our private conversations and wonderful food with great service. They have a nice selection of wines too! We often go there for our special occasions and they have daily specials as well. Never have been disappointed. Lunches are great too. We highly recommend it.

Vino Cappucino would be my romantic restaurant of choice. I love their fireplace along with a nice glass of merlot. Pretty much everything on their menu is delicious. A gift certificate would make a night at Vino Cappucino even more special. :)

While I don't normally recommend franchised restaurants I think that Carrabbas has a lot to offer. The wonderful menu filled with family favorite recipes. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The lighting sets an amazing ambiance. This place wins me over. My husband and I have enjoyed a variety of the wines and favorite dishes.

I like Melting Pot, I love the fondue and the different courses! It's cozy, quiet and you can eat off of sticks!!!!
Roxanne Kitzman February 14, 2012 at 02:32 am
Mr. B's is not only THE place for romance, it is the yummy food that keeps us going back!
Ibis Kinnart February 14, 2012 at 03:12 am
I like the Melting Pot's atmosphere. Dim/quiet. The seating seems private, and sharing fondue adds a level of intimacy to the dining experience.
Karen Wenzel February 14, 2012 at 03:33 am
By far our favorite Special Romantic Restaurant is Mr. B's The atmosphere is superb. The servers always make you feel like a VIP. And the food.... well there is nothing like a Mr B's Steak! It is a most special Restaurant.
Ryan Morgan February 14, 2012 at 04:16 am
1st Place: Melting Pot... in addition to being delicious, the concept just forces you to slow down and enjoy one another
2nd Place: Parkside 23 Haven't been to Flemings, I have a hunch that would be up there too. Also have to say that we like Jake's in Pewaukee a lot too.
Kellie O'Gorman Brunner February 14, 2012 at 04:42 am
Mr. B's steakhouse! Why? Give your man a cut of meat from this establishment and you will soon discover how romantic he can be! Food that good is full of romance!
Lisa Sink (Editor) February 14, 2012 at 04:44 am
That is funny, Kellie. The key to a man's heart is a great steak, eh?

Over the past several years, there have been several youth from throughout the world who haveRead More attended high school for one academic year in the Elmbrook School District through the Rotary youth exchange program. It is a tremendous opportunity for growth by the young adult, as well as the host family! If you have even the slightest bit of interest, I'd encourage you to contact Bill Petterson from the Elmbrook Rotary. It's a long-standing international program with many checks and balances so the experience is beneficial for all concerned.

We hosted a high school girl from Thailand three years ago and we continue that friendship with herRead More and her family. Not only do you, as a host family give a young person from another country a better understanding of America and Americans, but you learn about the perspectives and viewpoints of people from a totally different culture. It opens up our world view. If you have never hosted, do it!
Walker celebrates after defeating the liberal unionista blue fisters
Walker June 10, 2013 at 10:13 am
I believe your first 4 words. After that your credibilty dramatically falls off. The only "beatRead More down" received was by the middle & low income class of Wisconsinites. "As governor, I will sign legislation to prohibit the members of the State Legislature from voting after 10:00 at night or before 9:00 in the morning. This commonsense reform ensures the public has the opportunity to contact elected representatives about their votes on any pending legislation important to them. I have two teenagers and I tell them that nothing good happens after midnight. That's even more true in politics. The people of Wisconsin deserve to know what their elected leaders are voting on." --Scott Walker

Cry more. The temper tantrum never ends. I hear Illinois has a few hotel rooms you guys can bunkerRead More down in while you hold drum circles. Walker to sign low and middle class tax cuts. Oh what a beat down.
