Report: Shoppes of Brookfield Commons Files for Bankruptcy

Bloomberg News is reporting that the Shoppes at Brookfield Commons has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Bloomberg News is reporting the owners of the Shoppes at Brookfield Commons filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors on June 10 in Milwaukee.

The 43,000-square-foot shopping center, opened in 2005 at the southeast corner of Moorland and Blue Mound roads, listed assets of $9.1 million and liabilities totaling $11.7 million, according to the full report posted on JSOnline.com.

The Business Journal Serving Greater Milwaukee reported in December that the shopping center was 30 percent vacant.
