Sendik's on North 124th to Become a Piggly Wiggly

Sal Sendik and his sons will continue to operate the grocery store at North Avenue and North 12th Street but under the Piggly Wiggly banner, the store announced Wednesday.

The name of the Sendik's grocery store in Elmbrook Plaza on N. 124th Street is being changed from to Sendik's Piggly Wiggly to reflects its provider, the store announced Wednesday.

Piggy Wiggly Midwest, based in Sheboygan, announced the Elmbrook supermarket will change names on Aug. 23.

A $1 million remodel is planned later this year and the grocer will continue to offer Piggly Wiggly products as it has since last summer.

The store at 2315 N. 124th St. will continue to be owned by Sal Sendik and his sons John and Tony, along with stores in Bayside and on Downer Avenue in Milwaukee.

That trio of stores are not affliated with another Sendik's chain of 10 stores that includes the one in Elm Grove or the Sendik's Fine Foods in the Brookfield Towne Centre.
