Shopping Deals, Glee Star at Southridge Boston Store Grand Re-opening

The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, giveaways and a fashion show.

Shhh, don't tell the , but shoppers might want to drive to the Southridge store Aug. 22 for the deals at its grand re-opening ceremony.

Starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Aug. 22, the  will celebrate completion of its renovated store with giveaways and live music.

The first 1,000 customers on Aug. 22 will receive a complimentary gift. All cosmetics brands, including the newly added Clarins brand, wilVivianl offer complimentary make-overs and special gifts. Guests may enter to win prizes including a pair of Packers tickets, diamond earrings and a $1,000 shopping spree.

At noon on Aug. 25, "Glee" star Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the popular television show, will unveil her new collection "The Jenna Ushkowitz Collection by Wallflower" in a

Guests who make a Wallflower brand purchase of $35 or greater will meet Ushkowitz and receive an autographed photo.

Ten percent of sales from all Wallflower purchases made on Aug. 25 will be donated to Stomp Out Bullying™ to support Boston Store’s Back to School campaign.

Twelve local girls ages 12 to 19 are invited to be a part of the fashion show to help Ushkowitz unveil her collection, which is exclusively at Boston Store. A casting will be held in the Juniors department on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. Casting applications are available on bostonstore.com, search Wallflower. 

The newly renovated store will offer new brands in ladies’ sportswear such as Anne Klein, Jessica Simpson, Kensie and Romeo & Juliet and in men’s sportswear, with Tommy Bahama, Nautica, Polo and Kenneth Cole. The Shoe Salon is double in size, showcasing many new styles and brands, including Vince Camuto, Coach, Michael Kors, Steve Madden and Fergalicious.

The new store provides an open-floor plan, updated lighting with the newest energy-saving technology, spacious fitting rooms, wide aisles and customer seating areas. Two self-serve kiosks will be located in the store with complete web access to bostonestore.com for customers to browse or shop online with complimentary standard shipping.

The began in October 2011, assisted by a $3 million TIF district by the Village of Greendale. Boston Store’s exterior is being renovated to match the mall's . Southrige Mall is undergoing a $52 million renovation.

"This has been an extensive project, but well worth the wait as we look forward to offering our customers a rejuvenated shopping experience with a fantastic assortment of merchandise."
