Fun and Service Help Scouts Brave Winter's Chill

Neither snow nor frigid temperatures can stop Pack 23!

It was a great winter for the Cub Scouts of Pack 23!  We kicked off the year by participating in the annual Northern Lights District Cub-O-Ree held at Hamilton High School.  With the assistance of area Boy Scouts, our Scouts practiced new skills and learned about a variety of interesting topics.

A few weeks later, it was time for everyone’s favorite event, the Pinewood Derby.  The award for fastest overall time went to Hunter K., whose car clocked in at 208.2 mph.   “Best in Den” trophies were also awarded for speed, craftsmanship, and creativity.  Many thanks to the members of the McKinley Masonic Lodge for allowing us to use their facility for this event.

In March, we joined forces with the Boy Scouts to participate in the annual Scouting for Food food drive.  Thanks to the generosity of area residents, we were able to collect and deliver over 300 items to Kathy's House in Milwaukee.

Other fun all-pack winter events included ice fishing at Fox Brook Park and bowling at the AMF West Allis lanes.  We can't wait to see what excitement spring brings!
