A Hairy Dispute

A haircut takes a bad turn.

A hair salon called police Saturday when employees said a customer reacted angrily to her haircut.

About 45 minutes into her cut, a 51-year-old woman "became upset that her hair wasn't being cut to her desired specifications" by her stylist at , 17280 W. North Ave.

Owner Sandra Gumieny told police she tried to help the stylist but the patron became "irate, grabbed the photos of hair samples she had brought and stormed out," according to a police dispatch report.

Gumieny said the patron, who was not charged for the uncompleted haircut, made obscene gestures to salon staff as she paced outside the business, possibly waiting for a ride.

When contacted by police, the patron said she planned to file a complaint with the state alleging the staff had verbally harassed her. Officers notified the woman that she was no longer welcome at the salon and would be cited for trespass if she returned.
