A Taste of Italy is 'Great Escape' for Moms

Whether it's for lunch, brunch or dinner, a meal at Il Mito Enoteca provides rustic Italian cuisine.

Being a mother is a demanding, yet rewarding job, but even we need to take some personal time off now and again.

Picture this: Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

We help remind you to take that much needed and deserved “me time” in Patch’s weekly feature, ‘The Great Escape.” Each week we’ll tell you about one great place you can escape to with your spouse, your girlfriends or by yourself.

When was the last time you went out to dinner? How about without the kids? This week, let's take a look at a delicious escape to Il Mito Enoteca.

is located at 6913 West North Avenue in Wauwatosa.  Il Mito offers an intimate setting in which to dine on simple, rustic Italian cuisine.  Lunch and dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday features brunch as well as dinner.

One unqiue aspect is their gluten-free menu, which offers an array of meals to choose from. Chef Michael Feker also offers cooking classes and events at his School of Culinary Magic. These provide guests an opportunity to prepare meals as taught by Chef Feker, or to watch him work as he prepares their meal.

There are several upcoming events, such as a three course food flight and wine tasting on April 14 and the bloody mary brunch tweetup for Japan on April 17. The brunch event's proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to assist those in need in Japan.
