Brookfield's Week Ahead

With schools starting, Brookfield calendar has story times and only a few civic and community meetings.

Back-to-School is the big news this week. Classes at Brookfield public schools start Thursday, Sept. 1, with children returning after summer vacation.

And while it may not be a quiet week for those getting ready for school, there are only a few events on the calendar for Brookfield this week.

Children’s Events

Garden Sing-Along at the , 1900 N Calhoun Rd., Monday, Aug. 29, 10:30 to 11 a.m. Time to tweet! Join Miss Vicki for favorite children's songs in the Library Courtyard and sing along with the birds. (Rain location is the Community Room.) Website: http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us

Civic and Community Meetings

City of Brookfield Special Water and Sewer Board Meeting, Common Council Chambers, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 7 p.m. for discussion and possible action of a proposed agreement with the Town of Brookfield Sanitary District for the provision of sanitary sewer service for City property and the provision of potable water service for Town properties.

Sister Cities Committee, main conference room, City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd., Thursday, Sept. 1, 8 a.m.
