City of Brookfield Arbor Day Writing Contest

Winners will receive a tree seedling ready for planting.

The is holding a writing contest for Arbor Day, in which the winner gets a tree seedling ready for planting.

Entries need to follow the 2013 theme ”I would plant a tree for ?” in the form of essay, short story, poetry, or any other type of creative writing. Additionally, entries should not exceed 350 words.

The contest is open to City of Brookfield residents of all ages.

A panel of judges from the City of Brookfield will review  the entries and select (3) winners. Judging criteria is based on creativity and originality.  

Winners will receive a tree seedling ready for planting and winning entries may also appear on the City website.

Entry forms are available at the Brookfield Parks, Recreation and Forestry office or download it here.

Submit entry form along with written materials to the  office located at 2000 N. Calhoun Rd. by Thursday April. The winners will be notified by Tuesday, April 16.
