I-94 Exit to WIS 100 Closing Through the Summer

The closure will begin Saturday at 8 p.m.

The exit to WIS 100 northbound on I-94 westbound will be closed starting Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m., weather permitting.

The exit will remain closed through the summer.

Motorists are encouraged to use northbound US 45 to Bluemound Road, Wisconsin Avenue or Watertown Plank to access WIS 100 northbound as a detour route, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Travelers should also expect a shift in traffic on WIS 100 over the weekend.  Crews will move all traffic onto the southbound side of WIS 100 until late summer in order to work on the northbound lanes.

The $35 million reconstruction project includes widening WIS 100 to four lanes in each direction, including reconstructing the intersections.  During the majority of construction, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Work is expected to complete by the end of 2013. WIS 100 will serve as a critical alternate route during the Zoo Interchange project.
