Brookfield Native's 'Chicken and Waffles' Flavor Finalist for Frito-Lay Contest

Christina Abu-Judom is one of three finalists who is up for a chance to win a $1,000,000 and have their flavor join the Frito-Lay family.

A Brookfield native has won $50,000 as a finalist in the Frito-Lay Do Us a Flavor contest for her suggested flavor of chicken and waffles.

Christina Abu-Judom has the chance to win $1,000,000 and have her flavor become part of the Frito-Lay family. 

Abu-Judom entered 30 flavors in the contest that included feta, cilantro and basil, reported AZ Central. She was first inspired by the flavor when she moved from Wisconsin to Arizona and tried the meal at Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant.

She's up against two other rivals that include another Wisconsin woman's flavor of cheesy garlic bread and an Illinois man's flavor of sriracha.

Abu-Judom told Brookfield NOW that her nephew told her about the contest and till this day reminds her of the time she stole a bite from his waffle.

"One of my family favorites," she wrote on the contest's Facebook page. "I dedicate this to my nephew who will never let me live down a bite I stole from his waffle one day."

Abu-Judom graduated from Brookfield East High School and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, reported Brookfield NOW. She moved to Phoenix after working for the Girl Scouts of Milwaukee for five years.

The contestants were flown to Dallas where they met the other finalists, toured the Frito-Lay test kitchens and met the executive chefs, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.  

The contenders' flavors are on the shelf.
